Brought my parents for my mother's 80th birthday.Il Crotto is not advertised and is not in a purely tourist area, those who know the area and appreciate local foods go there.Those who are from the area, however, know that they eat cured meats and cheeses (obviously goat's) which to say 0 km is an understatement... Exceptional!For the rest.. Polenta! With onion soup, with braised meat, with luganega... How to eat it here.Light wine and, after the coffee, cent'erbe.

The place is very nice and pleasant, but be prepared for a steep climb to get there. We dined outdoors among the trees, enjoying a refreshing coolness and a lovely view. The food is very good, and the prices are reasonable. The service is friendly, and the owner is very kind and helpful

Wonderful hidden place surrounded by greenery. We had dinner on a rather cloudy evening at the beginning of September on the upper floor and there was a beautiful atmosphere, already a bit autumnal, thanks to the contrast with the warm and welcoming environment of the room, which has large windows, benches, tables and a fireplace and the overcast sky outside, which still allowed us to enjoy the view. The mixed starter is fantastic, as is the onion soup on a polenta crust. The stew with mushrooms was also very good. I will definitely come back for lunch to enjoy the outdoor view! The landlady is also the cook and is really kind and approachable, as is the waiter who served us on a Saturday evening. Excellent value for money! I can only recommend it!!

Amazing hidden spot to dine and drink. Great service, good value for money and amazing view on Mombello and Lake Maggiore. Freshwater spring a few stairs away from your table.
